Taking food supplements is a must in this day and age because we are not getting enough nutrients from our food.  Be careful what vitamins and minerals you take, however, because they might have synthetic substances in them.  All vitamins are not pure.  There is a good book on the market today that tells you what the synthetic ingredients might be in the vitamins you take.  The book is called, The Vitamin Code  by Massoud Arvanaghi, PHD; and Mike Yorkey.  In part 3 of the book, “What The Vitamin Code Means To You”, it explains that vitamins and minerals are manufactured from different sources.  On page 107 of Part 3 there is a partial list  of the name of the vitamin, and whether it is natural or synthetic.  This book is very informative and an interesting read.  I’m sure it will be an eye opener to you as it was to me. After reading this book, I can imagine that you will be reading the ingredient labels on your vitamin bottles a bit more closely and be much more aware of what ingredients are in the bottles.

Making nutritional blender drinks is a great way to supplement. Using organic fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh greens, herbs and pure water is wonderful for getting the nutrients we need for our bodies.  We should be using organic as much as possible.

Here is a great way to start your morning off right!  This blender drink is packed with vitamins and minerals!  Take 2 leaves of kale, 2 sticks of celery, ½ cucumber, and some red cabbage, a very small piece of turmeric, and a 1 inch piece of ginger.  Put some water in your blender or Vitamix and blend it until liquid. If you have to add some honey to make it sweeter, go ahead.

Getting in the habit of taking healthy food supplements or juicing is a great way to start your day and to stay healthy!

Let’s Get Healthy–Step two!

A second step to good health is the foods that are eaten. We Americans eat way too much food.   Often, our food includes processed meat, fast food, and highly-processed food. We like our sweets. We skip meals because we are in a hurry.  We forget to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. The food is high in fat, sugar and calories.  This kind of food causes blockages in our arteries, heart, liver, lungs, brain and colon. Eating this way also causes inflammation and disease. Our bodies become “off balance. We start to feel sick. We begin to feel sluggish and tired, we get constipated, feel bloated and gassy.

The foods we should really eat are greens, vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, herbs, organic juices and healthy meats. When we eat this way, we will be promoting our good health and have a disease-free body.
